ARC Solution Concept

Abstract thinking and reasoning are central elements of human intellligence. The objective of this Essay Challenge is to come up with ideas on how to solve the Abstraction and Reasoning Coprus (ARC) Challenge. The ARC Challenge is like an IQ test for machines. The goal of the challenge is to develop a program that can solve 100 secret ARC tasks, which are not accessible to the public. To train this program, there are 800 example tasks available to everyone. Find out everything about ARC on our ARC Page and solve ARC tasks yourself in the Lab42 ARC Playground!

 

To conceptually solve one of the biggest challenges in AI today without having to program your solution on your own, Lab42 challenges you to do the following:

Please make sure to carefully read the competition requirements on page 2 of the Challenge Outline below before submitting your essay. Essays may be submitted in English or German, and all citations and sources must be properly indicated. AI generated texts are disqualified!

We challenge you to write an essay of at least 1'500 words. Whether you answer the question from a biological, computational, mathematical, neuroscientific, philosophical, psychological, social, or any other perspective is up to you.

All essays are judged on their novelty, clarity, argumentative strength, and usefulness in the field of AI. Deadline for entries is May 7, 2023 at 23:59 GMT. Winners will be notified no later than June 4, 2023.
