Event held on May 25, 2022 at Davos, Switzerland
Representatives of the leading science, ethics, Artificial Intelligence and talent organisations came together to introduce Lab42 on May 25, 2022.
WEF 2022’s theme of turning points was a fitting moment for the announcement of a global lab dedicated to building human-level artificial intelligence, Lab42. The mayor of Davos, made the announcement, noted the city’s historic spirit of collaboration, innovation and pioneering new scientific approaches and of unprecedented magnitude at Davos Science City.
As a special guest of this exclusive event, the world leading AI-pioneer and master of modern machine and deep learning, François Chollet, announced the first global challenge hosted by Lab42, paving the way towards human-level AI. For humankind.
Mayor of Davos
One of the youngest Mayors in Switzerland, trained as an architect from ETH Zurich, Philipp is now the architect of a new political landscape and drives growth in Davos. His work is inspiring leaders in Switzerland and beyond.
Dr. Daniela Suter
COO of Lab42
Holder of a Ph.D. in molecular biology, Daniela is at the core of Lab42 as a driving force at the highest level. She has headed ETH Alumni Relations and developed breakthrough communications strategies for global leaders, and now smoothly runs operations at Lab42.

Software engineer at Google (Seattle, USA) and AI researcher, creator of Keras deep-learning library, main contributor TensorFlow machine learning, author of “Deep Learning with Python”, author of “on the measure of intelligence” and holder of the Global Swiss AI Award for breakthroughs in AI. Pioneer in imaging of neural networks in live mice, former Post-Doc at Stanford University (USA) on neural network learning algorithms and Professor for Neural Systems and Circuits at the institute of Neuroinformatics at ETH and University of Zurich.
