Beta Phase Round-Structure
To hold a fair Cup, we are playing a Swiss-system tournament each week of the Cup:
- Number of Rounds: log2(n = Number of Players) rounds consisting of 1 game per player.
- Score: The game score is calculated based on the average number of alive agents at the of each game.
- Pairing: Round 1 random, then opponents are matched based on their previous ranking. The closest in rank play against each other.
After each week during the Beta Phase, the players' score is reset. At the end of the final round of the Competition week, the player with the highest score wins.

Training Week 1: November 10 - 19
BumbleBees1708 vs. Attacker
Descritpion:
Watch as the Bumblebee (blue) swarm gathers energy from apples to reproduce, while the aggressive Attacker (red) swarm does the same but also launches attacks. Despite their efforts, Bumblebee falls short against the relentless assaults of the Attacker.
Examples of still unexplored strategies are:
- moving obstacles (white squares) to block the opponent's agents,
- merging items to receive power ups like further vision, more damage and more health,
- or enhancing agent-communication.
Training Week 4: December 4 - 10
bitbots vs. Attacker
Descritpion:
Bitbots is the first team to implement power ups! Unfortunately, the brutal tactic of the Attacker swarm still prevails - but for how long?
Examples of still unexplored strategies remain:
- moving obstacles (white squares) to block the opponent's agents,
- merging items to receive power ups like further vision, more damage and more health,
- or enhancing agent-communication.
